OPPLE made its debut in the Indian lighting market by showcasing a range of professional and consumer LED solutions at Light India 2014. This comes along with OPPLE’s recent efforts to build local teams on an international scale,with a global presence nowreaching across 50 countries.India’s lighting market is currently growing at a rate of 17-18% per year. LED lighting stands out as the most promising market segment, growing at 41.5% per year. This rapid growth is due to India transitioning from CFL to LED lightbulbs and provides an ideal market for LED manufacturers.
OPPLE CEO Ms. Xiuhui Ma shared her company’s vision at Light India 2014. She said,“We are really excited to step into the Indian market and our mission is to enhance the lighting standards of the country.” She went on discuss OPPLE’s ability to bring expertise and quality to the Indian market. Ms Xiuhui Ma stated, “Our strong understanding of the industry and keen insights into regional preferences will help us build awareness amongst consumers and drive demand for quality LED lighting solutions in the region.”
OPPLE Chairman Mr. S. Venkataramani commented on India’s market potential and outlined specifics of expanding the brand in the country. He stated,“We believe India is potentially a$500 million LED market by 2017and we are poised to harness this opportunity. OPPLE will roll out 30 large format exclusive brand stores across the top 30 cities in India in the next three years.”
Given the immense size of India’s emerging LED market it will be interesting to see the extent to which OPPLE will capitalize on its growth.
